Spring, summer or autumn ... here each season is unique and special. We recommend the rhododendrons in full bloom in July, and the months of September and October, when with the arriving of the Autumn leaves turn into an array of colours. The surroundings of Villandro are always unforgettable!
Among what we consider the most captivating places to explore we could not fail to include the Alp of Villandro, the ideal place for those who love sun, nature and walking. Tie your shoe laces and go up to the Lago del Morto (Totensee) lake and the little church nearby (Totenkirchl), Monte Villandro, or even to our own mountain hut, where once a week from June to October we will do our utmost to give you a wonderful day!
Protected natural area, a place for rest and relaxation for us tourists: this little bit of heaven is inhabited by eagle, chamois, deer and marmots. Gentians flower here, and the place is just waiting to be explored. The Zannes nature path, also suitable for wheelchair users, and the Adolf-Munkel path, at the feet of the imposing Gruppo delle Odle, are certainly worthy of a mention. But the list is much much longer ...
With a surface of 56 m2 and undoubtedly the highest plane of €pe, this is a true wonder for all kinds of tourists. About 450 km of trekking paths are there ready to be explored. Not to miss: Panche delle Streghe on the Bullaccia Mount, the ring path around Sassolungo and Sassopiatto, the Hans and Paula Steger path, and last but not least, a visit to the Rifugio Bolzano hut.
Reaching the 2,260 m mountain top with stunning views requires the Corno del Renon cable car, and a walk of about one hour. It’s been said that the view here is among the widest and most enchanting of the whole of South Tyrol ... Come and see for yourself if it’s true!
During the Summer months there is nothing better than a visit to the 200 m high Barbiano waterfalls: admire nature in all its strength: wild, fast and unstoppable. A unique natural spectacle ...
2,296 metres above sea level is the highest pilgrimage place in €pe, Rifugio Santa Croce di Latzfons and its sanctuary. The views here are truly breath-taking: from Vedrette di Ries, beyond Croda Rossa d’Ampezzo, to Sasso Putia. You can also admire Tofana, Gruppo delle Odle, Marmolada, Catinaccio, and many other majestic mountains.
The whole path is about 62 km long and goes from the Novacella Abbey near Bressanone, to the Bolzano valley. It can be split into several legs, to better enjoy the spectacular autumn landscape with its many colours. And the path runs just outside our hotel.
